Austin Railfans? McNeil? Hmmm... - 05-05-2009, 08:57 AM

So, I am by no means a rail photog, but I am liking the idea more and more. I used to go out to the limestone plant in McNeil (near Parmer & McNeil) at lunch w/ my old P&S and grab shots. It's been years, but I am wanting to now actually get into rail photography (at least a little bit).

I just read an off the wall comment on another board that McNeil is popular for this now, and there are usually photogs out there around lunch. I'm curious if anyone here goes out there at lunch sometimes? Might be fun to meet up for 45 mins and shoot lol.

Any of you guys go out there? Anyone wanna go? I might make a post later and see if anyone wants to go to Taylor this weekend too... :)

Sounds fun! Makes me wish I still lived in Austin. Hope you find someone to go with you.

There's lots of Austin-area railfans over at:
www.railroadforums.com

there's a few other sites that are Texas-centric, yahoo's railspot has a whole mess of 'em.

careful, it is addicting....
