Question Forum activity down? - 05-07-2009, 08:36 PM

Is it my imagination, or is image-posting activity down compared to a few months ago (or even a year ago)? Maybe I spend too much time here so it seems slow. LOL

I know I've been out of pocket for quite a while and will only be able to steal a few minutes here and there for the near future. Not only do I not have much time to spend on TPF, but very little time to take photos either.

Maybe the economic downturn is bumming people out??? I don't know. But in my case, I am just too busy at work. I had a day of vacation today and I've spent at least 5 hours editing work documents, responding to urgent phone calls and e-mails. I just can't get away no matter what I do.

Sorry. I'll quit whining now...

Patti

It definitely seem slow lately. However, dealing with a broken ankle for the last 4+ months, I certainly have not contibuted so I have no place to complain.

Business is slow for me, so I'm here way too often. But next week I am going to spend time doing the things I need to do rather than like to do!

the weather is getting warmer, people are getting out and shooting more...or just out in general.

summer months always tend to die down on internet forums.

So ... did they become the "best" because they attended the Texas School ? Or is it a derivitive function of their life/photographic experiences ?

I'm hoping (planning) to attend next year. I'm sure it will help improve my skills as well.

OK, I was just curious. It wasn't a complaint or criticism. :-)

I hope to attend a Texas School in the next couple of years. It certainly looks well worth the time and money.

It really has been, John... I took an art class because it was (I thought) 180 degrees from what I do day in and day out (portraits and headshots)... but as it turns out, I've left there with some great ideas for my regular business as well.

You never know what you're going to learn at Texas School, apparently.

It was my first year, and I don't think I'll miss another if I can help it.

Well John...Since you asked....I rarely post images here any more because the things I like to photograph just don't seem to have much appeal to anyone else here.
I prefer to take 'event' type photos, of things which are of interest to me and my friends.
I don't do much of the 'photo-art' type stuff, which most here seem to prefer, because that just doesn't appeal to me.
