I just wanted to thank y'all. You are kind and encouraging, and when one is new to all of this, it makes a big difference. I just got home from purchasing a piece of equipment from a local camera shop, down south of Houston.  I walked out, once again, feeling belittled and stupid. I felt that way once before, but decided that because of time (and because another store did not have what I needed), I would return to this place of business. I will no longer take my business there, no matter the situation.The owner is obviously knowledgable. But, he always seems to talk down to me; he makes me feel stupid--even my husband picked up on it. Anyway, I appreciate that this forum allows seemingly stupid questions to be asked (over and over) and is commited to helping others learn and grow. You've picked up my spirits, once again. Thank you! E. |

Absolutely! It's one thing that I love, and strive to emulate, is the patience of the people that took the time to teach (and STILL teach) me... I am a NOTORIOUS question asker... I just like to learn. Sorry they made you feel like crap though... in this market - they should be more aware of their customers. |

A few of the reputable local shops in Dallas-Fort Worth can leave some people feeling the same way. To me, being belittled isn't worth a knowledgeable staff! What equipment did you get? |

"The only stupid question is the one you don't ask." Good advice I got a long time ago. I am always glad to help. I hope others feel the same way when I need help. You are right about folks asking the same questions over and over. A few minutes spent searching might answer a few popular questions. "What tripod?" is getting under my skin.
