Instead of PMing you there are several heading to Kauai so I thought I would just put it out here.
How was it? Did you and Terry like it? Was it better than the others you have been to?

Breezy, the weather was not with us and the nights we were going to go it was POURING down rain! So I will just have to go back and find out!!

I don't know what planning you are trying to do, and I can't guarantee that STP is the same as the luau you have in mind, but I enjoyed myself at STP when I visited them in January 2006. They run a boat ride up the only navigatable river in the Hawaiian Islands, which my travel agent Mom and I rode. When we got back to the complex, we rode an open-car wagon around the grounds, looking at their landscaping. We watched them dig the meat they had been cooking from out of a fire pit. We watched a presentation by several ethnic dancers. Of course, we also had a good meal.

This was back just 2 or 3 months after I got my first SLR (much less my first dSLR), so, though I have photos of the whole thing, I have learned much about using the camera since that time. I'm still working on putting my Hawaiian photos online.

I think that Smith's Tropical Paradise did a really good job. They were friendly, professional and well-practiced. It's a bit touristy, but still nice. It's been family owned for a very long time.

Have you considered going through a travel agent?

For the whole trip or just the activities?
I am considering all options but it looks like booking them seperately we are getting a better discount.
Still looking though. You have suggestions on that too? :D
