Austin Models Photo Shoot

For those of you that missed the photo shoot on Sunday, well you really missed out. These are a ton of fun. The models are easy to work with, which is great for a noob like me. Here's a couple of the models I worked with:

I agree 150% The models made my photos look great - can you imagine that?

I'm still working on processing them - I took over 260 shots - but I can't wait until the next one. I've got to find out when the one in Austin is, because I won't be in town in July when the next Houston one is held.

By the way, it was good meeting you. I appreciate you bringing the lens over. I kept thinking about it afterward, but I had to walk away from it!

Here's a couple of the shots I did...it by no means represents any "priority" on the models! I worked them based on which ones needed the least work (for example, I've got a bunch of shots on one of the benches and the little brass tag shows up on them - urgh - I've got to remove that!)

I'm working on the rest and hope to have them complete by Thursday at the latest. I enjoyed it and can't wait for the next one.

The Austin shoot will be March 19th, a Saturday, in Round Rock (Austin), Texas. The theme is "Nerds, Punk, and Goth," and we have professional makeup people coming out to help the talent fit into these looks and styles. It promises to be a fun shoot and resulting in some images unlike those in most people portfolios with some theatrical flair to them!

Somehow, I thought you'd say that. I guess I'll be taking pictures at Build-a-Bear since it's my little girl's seventh birthday!

I love the theme and would have enjoyed shooting it. Next one.

By the way, once I finish all the galleries, I'll post on your forum for all to see. I've contacted the models I've completed directly already.

I can't say it often enough: they did a GREAT job. A very talented group.

Did we finally decide on it being in Round Rock again? I know there was talk of it being somewhere further south o the San Antonio people could make it easier.

Yes, this shoot will be in Round Rock, just slightly north of Austin. The following month, April, there will be an open group shot in an "old west" town that is private property but being booked for our use and is located between Austin and San Antonio. The theme will be western wear and/or cowboys/old west. Models, talent, and photographers will be required to sign a release for the property owner so as not to hold them responsible for any injury, etc. I have reviewed scouting photos taken at the location by our organizer and it looks FANTASTIC as a backdrop for shooting.

OK...so, are all these announced and sign up through your forum? I will make sure to go to the April one.

Yes. It's the only way we can keep track of so many people and also the organizers of each location need to tally and be able to contact through the forum's email function, and the models need to be able to know how to contact the people who attend afterward.
