Just a few from last night DFW MidCities Strobist Shoot - 07-26-2009, 08:36 PM

We had a lot of fun last night shooting WWII re-enactors.

My attempt here was to convert a few of my favorites into 'period' pieces, creating a look at feel of images taken in the 1930s and 1940s.

C&C greatly appreciated on these...

Ken

Interesting set of photos. I think the processing with the grain helps to take these back in time as does the equipment and uniforms. The second one is a great example of a left handed shooter that is right eye dominate.

Ya know, there was something about that photo that struck me out of place...and you nailed it. You're right!

Very nice shots. Is that a PPS-43 the guy is holding in #2?

I wondered that during the shoot also. The frame looked like the PPS-43 but used the PPSh-41's drum magazine. When I asked, he called it the "field" modified version of the 43.

Am I the only one who looks at #1 and thinks Inspector Clouseau (Peter Sellers)?
