Taking a shot at Senior Portrait style - 01-19-2010, 07:48 PM

Ok...I didn't grow up in an atomsphere where we had 'senior portraits' other than cap & gown. Seeing some of the great work here, my son was over the other day and I thought I'd give it a try. Overpowering the sun is a 22" Beauty Dish on an AB400 off to the left side.

You have some nice images. I'm not sure if you have hi speed sync with your canon, but in the last image, try and shoot with a wide open aperture to get rid of the background detail. Try shooting at 2.8 or so, with bright sun, your shutter speed has to be really fast, thus the hi speed sync.

Thanks Dan....I usually shoot 1/200 when using my strobes. I think I did have my aperature a little high though for capturing the blue sky and clouds for the other shots.
