TriCoast - What we have been up to lately - lots of photos - 01-28-2010, 11:17 PM

Well it has been quite some time, our business has exploded over the last year as we (TriCoast) expanded to all aspects of photography and not just wedding photography as we were for many years.

I personally have the honor to be appointed on the National PPA Educational Committee for ImagingUSA 2011. I, along with several others will be in charge of who will speak at the upcoming ImagingUSA 2011 which is back in TEXAS in San Antonio next January. Cody reached his goal and earned his PPA Craftsman degree and our better halfs (Suzy and Cindy) have grown as artists in ways we never thought they would this fast. All in all life has been amazing, photography is more fun now than ever before, even though we work more than ever.

With all that said, I just wanted to share a little of what we have done over the last few months. From local seniors, little new borns, Hawaii and Deep South Weddings, to High School Musical posters, we simply have done a wide range of photography services to serve our local community as well as the international community. From traditional, a little edgy and a lot in between. Our goal is to be THE photography studio in our area offering low end no experience event photography to high end complete experience sessions that the TriCoast brand has built its reputation on. Enjoy the range of photos and of course please post the good and the bad, I think we can take it and it is the best way to learn in the process.

These are all fantastic! The newborn shots are quite nice (and I don't tend to gravitate to newborn shots most of the time, if I'm honest). Great diversity in these, all executed quite nice!

(well, if I have to search for a nitpick, I'd say #10's angle of attack doesn't do it for me. The DOF is great, but I would have liked to seen it from higher up, even if just a little.)

All in all, amazing stuff.

#3 and #4 appear really washed out on my monitor for some reason.

Wow across the board.
#1 - strikingly cool and different from most of the medal shots. however the customer (or their family) has to definitely have the proper personality to be able to do something with the prints of a photo that states (to me) "I am the greatest, you may also observe my glory." Dont know if that was the mental intent, but its still really cool and different from other ideas you see to commemorate the medals won.

Question on #3 - Is that a shadow or a bump of hair behind her head (just to the top left of her hair looking at it)? If its hair, the darkenss of that bump looks odd (in a sample this small) compared to the color of the rest of her hair. (It looks more like an odd shadow on my monitor at a glance.)

#13 : Saw that one in your newsletter and thought it was cool then. Thanks for the detail in your newsletters

#16 : Way cool! Talking about dramatically different.

Overall, excellent work!

Great stuff! I love #7 and #16.

I think a few are a little over the top on post processing where it looks more like a graphic art piece than an actual photo.

Thanks "lenron" for the feedback love the details

"Murph" those two are more faded in processing style so not sure how much on your end they look but it was to a certain degree by design

"ChristopherCoy" Not yet we got our hands full with the 4 already here but I will keep you in mind when we open up our new studio.

"SpeedRacerSlots" Thank you as well for the detailed response really love when others take the time to say what they like and dislike about our work. While sometimes we have to pay the bills and not produce all "art" we still try and make each image a little different from the others

"thejackstir" thank you as well old friend - you surprised me in liking the doggy pic :) Some are over the top in processing again by design since the entire session is not that way. Thanks for taking the time in saying something :)

Good to see you again Mike. Your stuff is amazing as usual. My wife would go crazy for the dog shot. Give me a call if you get up this way sometime.
