Elle for C&C - 09-03-2010, 02:13 AM

I did a shoot for a friend's wife Wednesday night, and I would like a little feedback on one of my picks from the session. This is after a very quick & dirty retouch. I don't get offended easily, by those who are actually trying to help. So, feel free to be 100% honest in your critique.

Thanks for looking!

Very pretty and well executed portrait, Mike. I like the soft lighting, the color palette and the triangular composition. Her right foot is beautiful

In terms of things that could be done differently, I think that the small table and candle don't add much to the work they way they are place. If you eliminate that bright point, the image becomes simple and the viewer's attention flows more easily to her face. Also, my sense of symmetry wants the line of separation between the wall and the coach to be horizontal. These are just nit picks.

I wonder if the image could be simplified further by letting her right arm and hand slide along her right thigh and not create the point of interest around the flower. This is just a personal preference more than a suggestion for improvement.

Finally I'd love to see a version where her pretty eyes are locked on the viewers' and there is a strong connection that way. I do love the languid look, away from the camera, at the same time I want her to look at me looking at her

Great work!

What Paco said plus I'd like to see a little more of her left hand instead of it hiding behind her leg and RED toenail polish, not black.

Again, that's just preference.

Well done.
