Sabrina,

I like the composition, and if it's suppose to a high key (over exposed) image, then I think it looks good. Frankly, I've never been able to tell if a high key image is in proper focus, so I'll assume that this one is.

I noticed you shot this in a program mode. You should try to take control of your camera's settings by using aperture priority or manual mode.

Good job!

first thing I notice is that it looks blown out/over exposed. The other thing is I'm not quite sure what you are shooting at. I think it's the player kneeling down with the water bottle, but you cut off his feet and helmet and there is a lot of space above him. If the time is correct in the exif data, you could have increased your shutter speed a lot and that would have limited the exposure. If you were shooting the guy with the water bottle, maybe move yourself so the you don't see a whole bunch of butts right behind his head. Either that or open up your aperture and really blur out that background.... Just a few things I see. Keep practicing and posting.

The crop is unconventional, but I see photos in the newspaper all the time that are unconventional in the way they are cropped. It's not the way I would have cropped it, but I can't say that it is wrong. To me the composition looks good over-all. I'm a female who finds half-time more interesting than the game, and maybe also the spandex suits, so the butts in the background are unobjectionable to me.

High key is not the same as overexposure. The post work looks a bit harsh to me as well (like there's too much clarity or Tonal Contrast from Nik).
