Couple in Monterrey, Mexico - 12-28-2010, 07:34 PM

Hi!

Here are some photos I took of a couple in Obispado, Monterrey, Mexico. It's an old monastery on the top of a hill and very popular for wedding photos and stuff. Anyway, these photos were taken about two months ago. I hope you like them

I like the idea of number and fill flash you added to them as well. I would have shot a bit lower to get rid of the car on the bottom left and edit out the helicopter.

Nice shots though. Did they love them, because that is essentially all that matters.

Thanks - 12-29-2010, 09:53 PM

Thank you guys! I am still new at this, so all feedback is greatly appreciated.

Now that you mention it, the first one is a little bit out of focus. I'm actually proud of it because I was carrying both the camera and the fill flash at the same time hahahah... At the time of the photo, I didn't notice the car, and was excited to get the helicopter in the shot, too.

Yes, in the end, they loved them and that's what matters, but I appreciate the feedback as I said, because I want to get better in my next shots.

Thank you very much!

I like the last one, though it seems a bit orange. I think I would like the second better if the couple was over to the right side of the frame. I don't ever give critiques, so I'm not very good at this. I did notice you are in Laredo. There's a great group of photographers there that get together and shoot models and different things. There are some great photographers that are a part of it, plus there are some that are just starting out. It might be worth looking into. Here is their link: Leslie Spurlock Photography | Facebook

I know everyone is glad to help you out here. I have learned much from the critiques I have received on my photos that I have posted and it feels good to be able to return the favor to other members.

As for your last shot, I was thinking you could crop in more and get a bit more intimate with them on the photo to capture the love they are showing. The kiss isn't the main focus here seeing alot of their backs.

I'd get rid of the chopper in the first photo.

Thank you Leslie! I've just joined the facebook group and introduced myself. I hope I get to meet more people there too.

And I agree Ray, with getting closer to focus on the kiss! This is good stuff, thanks a lot!

Awesome, Alfonso! I think they haven't done much lately, but hopefully, it will start up again. One of the girls that's on there (great photog), I shot her wedding in Laredo. The guy that started it is the brother of my second shooter. His daughter is also on it. I hope you enjoy it!
