Good relationships bring happy and stupid fun things. For example we were asked to create an upcoming ad for our school/event lab Miller's however when they sent all of the products they wanted to display we did not have a CLUE on how we would do it. With so many colors, tiny products in overall size, well we were lost.
So about an hour before the shoot loading up all the gear, my daughter for some reason popped into my head. You see last month she had major spinal surgery and was in so much pain from it (still is honestly) and while laying in the hospital bed all she wanted to do was watch Back to the Future shows - Part I, II, and III.
I kinda laughed at this and then it hit me the 80's are so back in right now with the high school kids and since this high school, our main high school is the one I graduated from I am kinda "going back to school" Why not put them together and run with the concept of "Back To The Schools.....with TriCoast" Lets lay the products out but make them part of the image and not the main image, lets just have some fun with the kids and the overall look.
Calling the school, not only getting the approval from the Principal, but also the yearbook teacher rounding up the students, getting Cody and I Letterman jackets, finding us the students who owned several lockers and got them opened up, and hung around to help us out anyway possible. All this happened in ONE HOUR or less.
To me not only does the school/event business have wonderful business opportunities but also such an amazing community relationship builder. Without the relationship we built with this school and the students within it, we simply could never have done this marketing item much less in the time period we did it.
Already our Facebook page has gotten a ton new requests from the word spreading about this photo in the school today. Only one of the students are seniors so they will all want to come to TriCoast when their senior year rolls around too :)
The school contacted me today and wants to place this image in poster size around the school - HA!
Anyways here are the photos - nothing special but it sure was nice to see an idea and concept being pulled off in less than two hours total from thought process to shooting.
Oh and a final note - I know I am creeping on the girl in the lime green shirt - its all good she is almost 30 and my wife come 1-11-11 at 11:11am :) So I am safe I promise :)
