So here is what I did:

Ok,

lst thing I did was to run the portraiture plug in, back it off to taste. Wipe the eyes, lips and hair back to sharp.
Used the healing brush to take care of all the blemishes.
Then I ran the portraiture plug in once more, backing it off to taste. Wipe the eyes, lips and
hair back to sharp.
Using curves I then adjusted the contrast to taste.
Then I ran the Nik Silver Effects filter and using the natural setting. Adjust contrast to taste.
I then worked on the eyes burning in the shadows slightly, the eye pupil, the edges of the outer pupil. I also burned down the eyebrows slightly. Using the dodge tool I lighten the catchlights in her eyes slightly. I did not lighten the whites of her eyes.
I burned down the highlights on her arms and hand alittle.
With the color balance adjustment I added Red & Yellow to taste.
I cropped square, because I love this format and then set the composition to my liking.
I opened up an new canvas 20X20, made it black, brought my 14X portrait into it holding the shift key to place in the center, then moved it up just alittle in that canvas. Used the stroke key for my line around the portrait.
With the color balance adjustment I added Red & Yellow to taste.

There you have it. Hope that helps.

Best regards, Ernst

I love it, Ernst. It's amazing the difference that some subtle enhancements can make.

Beautiful work as always!

I agree with Steve, there seems to be something going on in the background (above her right shoulder)?

Thanks everyone. Ya, not sure what happened there in the background but I'll fix it before printing.

Nice edit, what's the purpose of a plugin? I hear people using these but I've never messed with any.

The purpose of the Portraiture Plug-In, it's a filter you run to sofen the image and get rid of some of the blemishes. It cuts down on alot of work.

Ernst, very nice as usual. IMHO, I would have backed off a little more portraiture. However, most women prefer SMOOTH skin!!!

Tri, I do back it off quite a bit, after I'm done I usually zoom in quite abit to make sure I still have texture in the skin. Keep in mind it picks up more of the filter when down sizing for the web, plus I think that's where the banding came from also. Yes, Most ladies do love smooth skin and NO blemishes. ;-)

Oh, on a business/sales note, my ordering appt came in at $1030, even after giving a number of discounts because she was one of my 2011 Senior Models/Reps. I'm do'n the happy dance here at my studio. Not here to brag, just wanting to point out what anyone else can do if they are doing the right things and pricing themseleves correctly. Now imagine my sale if I was just handing over a CD. ;-)
