Gorgeous baby jordyn....please cc! - 03-04-2011, 01:45 PM

Here are more pics from my first ever baby shoot with beautiful baby Jordyn. Please CC as usual and any advice is always welcome...especially those that have followed my progress on TPF. These are the best ones I have edited so far.

The baby is beautiful. You are improving, however, I think you should pick up a lighting book. While the exposure is sound, lighting is too inconsistent, even when you shoot natural light only.

Thanks for the advice....I've noticed that too. Natural light changes throughout the shoot and even little bits of change here and there are noticeable. I do have a strobist/midwest photo exchange lighting kit and I am working on learning how to use. I had to adjust the background in the first picture to make it more even (in PS). I should have done the same in the others to at least make them consistent. I will go back and do them as well to make them all more uniform.

Yeah learning how to use your light is really important.

Controlling your lighting ratio will provide that "pop" when you process. You can achieve the same thing with natural light, but much, much harder.

They look good! The first two you it might have worked a little better if the baby was turned so her face was not in the shadow.

Also instead of a bumbo seat look into a boppy pillow, it will help with proping but not give the middle party of the bumbo. Or just if the bumbo is yours cut the leg seperator thingy out.
