Hello David. It is definitely an attention grabber. My first impression, too bright. If you crop off much of the overhead space it is not as overwhelming and becomes quite pleasing.

By the way, I love those eyes. Any chance of a little sharpening on those?

Though I typically stay away from bright colors due to the "splash" on complexions, the COOL thing is this: with pure, bold primary colors you can do all sorts of tweaking in post production.

Granted, yellow is so close skin tone, global adjustments don't work as well as with other colors...

I think the colors are fine. Obviously a bright yellow background would not be an everyday thing, but since the theme is obviously "yellow" then I think it works. Just make sure to keep the skin tone pretty natural during processing and for sure don't let it go towards yellow. :)

i would consider using possibly a darker shade of yellow for the background. the shade you have now is very close to the lemon slice and doesnt make the model pop much especially with her light skin tone.

David, cute images. I like the mono tonality, and I think it works. The second image is nicely done - my two suggestions, cropping is a bit tight for my taste, but it's a matter of personal preference. I think the story could be stronger is the model was interacting with the lemon and not with the camera/viewer, a pure profile with the juice falling on the tip of her tongue? If I was squeezing a lemon I'd be paying attention to the juice Love how she's posed her hand!

Your bg is too intense IMHO. This visually pushes the bg forward creating a flatter "feel".

darkening the background would be a mistake IMO. The main reason this series works is because of all the similar yellows. It's like an ad for Lemons. I like the close crop in the 2nd one but agree it would work better if she was interacting with lemon and not photographer.

Agreed. I'm just talking about lowering the intensity just a tiny bit.

Thanks everyone. When I firt looked at them I like to have puked, but the more I looked, they kinda grew on me. I have a couple where she is looking more at the lemon. I will PP one and post back to this thread.
Thanks Again.

I like what you did with two. the background really pops more to me and makes it more eye catching. the shade of yellow is more appealing but still very subtle but give the image the small bit of balance it was needing.
