Critique: CC:

This is one of my best friends and my roommate. I did a shoot for her as a gift for being accepted into med school! CC is much appreciated. I don't usually shoot people over 5 :)

1. I know her hand is a little awkward, but she does things like that with her hands all the time and did this on her own. I like it because it's so her!

2.

3.

4.

5.

I'm surprised no one has commented on these. LOVE numbers 3 and 5. I like the others a lot, too, and you already mentioned the awkward position of her hand in one. That was the only thing that bothered me on that one.

yeah these are fantastic. in number 1, the awkward hand doesn't bother me. the frame is all lines and angles, but anchored by those bright blue eyes. that bent wrist just adds to the dynamic tension. look at me! i read a book about composition! lol

The first time I saw these was on my phone and I don't like typing on my phone that much, haha. I LOVE 4 and 5! I love everything about 4 - the pose is great, the lighting is gorgeous, expression is beautiful - a real winner. I really like her expression in #5 as well, and even though she's squared off toward the camera, I think it works better than in #3 because of her arm placement and the more pleasing expression.

In #2 I feel like the horse is the primary subject because he has more visual weight in the frame, but it is a cute shot. All are very nice!

Not a critique, just a question...you LIKE the sun flare that partly obscures her face and takes away from her beauty?

If it were my daughter, I would immediately rule those two out as the intense sun flare competes with the beauty of my daughter's face...the others are great, I can see how beautiful she is and to me that is waht the photos should convey.

I think it depends on who the photos were taken for. The daughter might really like them for the reason you don't as the sun flare thing is very "in" right now
