Critique: CC:

My gbaby is now 8 months old and so much fun. I took minimal equipment with me for these. I realize the skin tones are different due to the various processing. Her arms and legs have a distinct red/purple tint. If anyone can tell me how to fix that, I would be so grateful! Masking with the color balance doesn't seem to do it. All C&C is welcome!

I'd try to brush in some desaturation into her hands/arms, along with brightening them a bit to work towards a color match. Actually, the whole photo seems much cooler than the other two. I might warm it up a bit in your WB first, then try the steps above.

I just had something similar happen to a girls legs in the my studio. They were pinker and darker than her arms. I was able to change the effect by using the above.

Love all of them, but the first one is my favorite. Don't have any tips for fixing the skin colors though, but do have a question. What minimal equipment did you use? Just wondering cause my first gbaby is due in May. I'm always thinking about shots I want to take and the "how to" for each shot.

Have you tried using the color picker to select a similar tone on the body that you want. Change the brush mode to hue instead of normal with opacity @ 20%.

Thanks, Scott! I will try that.

Thank you, Lexie! Since I had to fly to see her, I took my D700, my 24-120 f/4 lens, the SB800 with a lightstand and small softbox. These shots were done in their dining room with a north facing patio door so we had lots of additional light.

Can also work for lumanance instead of hue if the arms apear too dark due to the difference in color.

Thanks, Debbi, I've north facing windows that provide lots of natural light.
The set up you used is how I've been thinking I wanted to do the shots. She just needs to get here!!!

Forgot to say.....she's beautiful!!
