My trusty, dusty old 20d accompanied me to Marc and Robin's recent Brenham shoot. Included are my favorites from the shoot. I'd like feedback on how you guys think I did, please! Thanks. And by dusty, I really do mean I had to clean a LOT of dust off of them...next time I'll know better...

Good stuff, Bryce.....number three is my favorite.

One suggestion in the future - have your model take off her shoes when she's in the bluebonnets. I've done it both ways - with and without shoes, and I think the shoeless versions end up looking more carefree.

Thanks Jeff! Good suggestion--I like. I can't believe all these views, and no suggestions to improve? I know they aren't perfect!?

You are welcome.

One other thought - did you want the lady in the white dress to look as serious as she does? I think getting a smile out of her would have made a big difference.

(by the way - I like your poses with her - it is just the serious look on her face that is a bit troublesome for me)

I think that was more her, actually. She's around my daughter's age, and wears braces. I have found my daughter does the same thing quite frequently actually... I'm okay with it if she is... :)

I like the variety of shots. I would like to see you control the DOF better on the long shots with the subjects being more of the focus and not so much the backgrounds. It's okay to include the BG, but make it less of the whole by reducing the DOF or area of focus. Shoot a little more wide open than stopped down in aperture.

On the first shot I think I would have tried the camera set up where you have her looking. This angle nor the pose seem comfortable or natural. I don't feel a connection from her to the camera.

On the last shot I think having her sit up a little straighter would improve the shot. She looks uncomfortable slumped over. Keep shooting. It's the only way any of us get better.

Thanks Doug. I see where you are coming from. I guess in the one shot near the wellhouse and bluebonnets I was trying to keep them in the image. I can see that on the other image easily. Thanks for the helpful comments. I have a variety of shots with her in that last pose. I'll post a few more. Beware...she doesn't smile any more in them than she does here...

Additional photos... they look a little better on my system than they do here...kinda blurry on the shrink and save-for-web.
