Senior in Historic neighborhood of Temple, Tx - 04-20-2011, 10:01 PM

Critique: CC:

I tried out utilizing some of the more historic neighborhoods in my town. I got permission from some of the residents to actually get up close to their houses. I think it worked out pretty well.

This is my favorite shot.

It is a cool shot but my eye is drawn to the hanging light and makes it feel like the focus is on the house not the girl.

I like it, hanging light wasn't too distracting, but maybe PS can clean it up. What lens did you use?

I took it with the Canon 16-35mm L. Just got it and have been playing with the wide angle from different perspectives.

all I see is the house... then I see the young lady standing there... the house just dominates the picture even though she is wearing very vibrant colors.

not a fan of the wide angle ... the three of her wearing the "sooner" shirt are my favorite.

Are you a Sooner? Or you like them better from a portrait stand point.

The wide angle use was probably a little more to demonstrate the architecture than to accentuate the subject, and it sounds like that's pretty clear to everybody who looks at the picture. Thanks for the comments.
