Color or Black & White? - 04-23-2011, 10:32 PM

Critique: CC:

Today's visit to the Scarborough Faire at Waxahachie, TX. Kept waiting for this arms dealing guy to pose against the wall. But he had too many customers in line. Had to make do with this profile shot.

Do you think BW is better or do you prefer the color. Please let me know. Any other C&C relating to lighting, composition, finishing, etc is also welcome

I prefer the b&w. The colors don't add anything IMO.

B and W but watch your whites. In the color version there is detail in the shirt. You blew it out in the conversion.

Like Rob said. I also like the B&W but adjust to get the detail back in the shirt.

Personally I prefer the color. I love the rich browns and reds in the woods and think it gives the weapons more personality. It also gives much more of a "texture" feel to the shot IMO. The B&W is a cool shot, but the color makes me wish I was there myself.

B+W and, perhaps, add some grain.

I'm with the majority - b&w. I think the bw does a better job of accenting the various blades which frame the subject.

Black and white. Get rid of the showcase/countertop thing.
