I had the opportunity to shoot some headshots with Lindsey this AM. She was one of the most professional models I have worked with. I would rank her up there with Kristen and Holley, she is just that good. I went out on a limb and tried to shoot ala Kevyn Major Howard; out in the driveway with natural light and a big white reflector. I know they aren't just like his, but I'm trying to put some of my 'style' in there as well.
Nikon D200, Nikkor 70-200mm f/2.8G VR
ISO 100, f/3.2, 1/250 @ 170mm
The full size image is much more striking http://www.polodigital.net/images/Li...indsey007f.jpg

I like the second one a lot more - Nice smile.
The first one looks to have a bit to much of a red cast to it especially when looking at the large full size copy you linked to.

I'm still messing around with Bibble and Capture 1 LE. By default C1 brings in the image with hue at -46 for some reason. I think I set the first one at -20 and overshot. The next two are at -30. Color temperature is 6000, shot in shade with a white reflector panel.

I pulled the red cast out of the first with the channel mixer rather than going back to the RAW.

My favorite is #2. But then I will almost always prefer a smile to a scowl. :-)

The first shot is my favorite. Very sexy look, love the way the hair fall across the eye, and all the red and brown color. What a way to start off the year with a beautiful model with a great smile.

Really good work Scott, your shadows are improving and your starting to use them to add depth to your images and not take away from it. Great shots, and man she has one great smile!

Very nice start to the new year. If you hadn't told us, I wouldn't have known these were done outdoors. Nice job.

I really like those. It's amazing how well a simple set up like that works. The first is my favorite! Now tell me how you people get to work with those gorgeous models!

Now tell me how you people get to work with those gorgeous models! | Dan, First thanks for the compliment. It's not too tough to find gorgeous women to photograph. Here are the instructions:
- buy camera, lenses, lights, backgrounds, props, books, DVDs
- read, practice, watch, practice, and practice some more
- post your best images on One Model Place, Model Mayhem, Garage Glamour, etc.
- shoot, practice, shoot, and keep reading & practicing
- deal with all the no-shows, flakes, and wanna-be's until you find the really good few
- choose to work with best as your work gets better and better
The other option is simply to pay them their standard rate. I've done that one occasion to bootstrap my portfolio. You can also attend a workshop to get great images with excellent models. YMMV.
