Did my first "stranger" shoot today-- and also used fill flash for the first time other than practice! It was mostly for the youngest boy, as his 2nd birthday is in a few weeks. He wasn't very into it.. I struggled trying to capture happy moments. I also struggled with shooting manual outside.. the clouds kept changing and then my settings would be off just as quickly as I got them correct. I shot RAW, so I was able to fix it for the most part. I have several more shoots with folks I've never met over the next week or two. It's nerve wracking-- but exciting! I'm not charging anything, so that lets some of the pressure off. Still, I'm so disappointed when I realize something was sticking up in the background.. or there was a car.. or power lines.. or whatever.
