I decided to try my hand at some beauty shots last weekend; here are some results. Lighting is a single 3'x4' softbox @ f/22-f/36 just behind me and off to the side a little bit.

Love #2, except the catch lights across the pupils kill the eyes. Paint it black and it's a winner.

#2 looks like you burned the fingers a bit too much. I also agree about the catch lights covering the pupils. A personal nit, her eyelashes being stuck together.

I tried to down down her fingers some, but they started going grey. I'll have to watch the eyelashes more next time I do some beauty work. I don't know about completely cutting out the catchlight; it didn't look right to me when I tried to that.
