Random portraits with the Fuji x100 at night - 08-21-2011, 06:43 PM

Critique: CC:

Last night I went to old downtown Plano to have a beet at the Fillmore Pub with a photographer friend of mine. I took the Fuji x100 just for fun. Here are some pictures I took with it. All images were done with available light and got little postprocessing. Lighting conditions were quite poor, so all images below are high ISO.

1. Walked into an art class and photographed the teacher 1/60s f/4.0 ISO1600

2. Brad, the tatoo artist at "Ashes Smokes and Tattoos", doing a design in Illustrator. 1/20s f/4.0 ISO3200

3. Brad's assistant, sorry I forgot his name, he'll be going to college to study music in the spring. 1/25s f/4.0 ISO3200

4. Inside the Fillmore Pub at night. Basically no light! 1/4s f/2.8 ISO3200,

5. The lonely drinker, also a the pub. This guy spent the entire time we were there in front of a computer, hence his blue face. 1/3s f/2.8 ISO3200

Thanks, Keith. This little camera is great for street photography and to carry it with me all the time. I was planning to do some street photography but it was too hot and there was nobody on the streets, so I had to go in the shops and photograph people indoors - low, ugly light conditions, but the x100 does remarkably well.

Hahah, hadn't thought of street photography complications due to this heat, but I sure don't blame people for not being out.

Thanks, Chris. For the last two shots I used my pint of beer as tripod but I can hand-hold this camera to 1/10s with no problem! Thanks for your nice comments.

Dang Paco, you've got the hands of a surgeon! I don't know diddly about film, but under those conditions, these look fantastic to me!
