Thanks David. Alyssa was in my living room, I was in the back yard. My makeup artist was holding a garden hose on the "spray" setting, but at very low power. I asked him to ark the "rain" up slightly to let the rain fall down more gently. I didn't want it splattering all over the place. I also asked him to get the water very close to her face, but not cover it. I was trying to isolate Alyssa's expression, without being obvious about it. Flash was a strobe with 7" silber reflector, pointed straight at the window. This served to give me some nice strong shadows and to let the light reflected from the window go straight back towards the light, rather than my lens. I picked an angle where I couldn't see my modeling lamp and asked Alyssa to let her thoughts wander, be bored or melancholy. Here is another version. This one is SOOC. The background is about 3 feet behind her. It's just some gold fabric lit from below with a gridded speed light.
Thanks!
