Beach Maternity Session - perfect belly! - 09-29-2011, 02:59 PM

Critique: NC:

This was my first beach session, taken last night in Galveston - and it was worth every grain of sand I have to clean out of my mustang this weekend! I didn't photoshop a single stretch mark - I plain don't think she had any. Before we started shooting, they spefically said nothing cheesy, nothing too posed, more natural looking photos please, and I think we accomplished that (and then they promptly requested the belly kissing photo, he really loved that...but no hearts on the belly, no blocks, no ribbons...they dont even know if they're having a boy or girl!!). We do have some closeups of her belly only, i just havent edited them yet. Baby's room is beach themed too!

Anyway - part of my network at my 8-5 job is down, and with Abel posting about photobucket earlier...I figured I'd try my hand at attaching photos again since I had some trouble last time. Here's to hoping it works.

I talk too much - but I apologize for so many photos! It was impossible to narrow down to just a few...this a session that just makes me smile!

I think of all of them, I like the last horizontal you posted. The setting sun rimlight, the attention focused on the baby belly... Very Nice!!

These are all gorgeous! I can see why you would be smiling. Personally I prefer the last ones where her belly is covered up.

That was her favorite outfit :) But we did the bare belly ones so she could compare them to the ones her husband took of her in Turkey this summer (in and out of the water both). So I thought that was cool! Thank you!!

Yeah, these are wonderful. Some of the best maternity photos that I've seen in quite a while.

Really beautiful - that is one gorgeous mama to be! The skin tones are wonderful. I just shot 4 family/couple sessions at that location a couple of weeks ago - making my way through them and will be posting pics soon...hopefully... :)

Totally gorgeous isn't she? Thanks! you better post them :) I like seeing how other photogs use the same locations differently - and if they're like the other beach shots on your blog, I know they'll look nice!

These are fantastic. It felt like I was looking through a spa brochure- which is a good thing! I don't much like maternity shoots, but these are definitely great. I have to share John's sentiments of these being the best I've seen in a long time.

All incredible shots Rebecca!
Not feeling the blue jean ones, except for the last one. Its like she grabbed a a pair of pre-preg jeans and left the button open.
All the rest are rock solid! Like the above, color, contrast, composition, exposure.
The laying on the side pose was a cool twist.
Excellent job all the way around.

I really like the one where she's laying on her side in the sand. You can see the shape of the "baby bump" (I hate when tabloids call it that!) I've never seen one like this.
I don't know why, but I'm not a fan of profile pregnant belly shots. I never took any when I had one.

I have to agree with what someone above said about the jeans -- but the shirt pulled up over the belly is what bugged me.
