This is a Model and friend Crystal Bell, who agreed to me testing out video with DSLRs on her.
While I was setting up some lighting and audio, I saw this from other side of the room ... so, I wanted to capture her sitting there waiting.
Thought I would share ... what would you do differently with the shot, or do you like it. Just wondering.
I did have a single strobe to the right of her (camera left) and these huge windows during the overcast day to her left (camera right) and a reflector on the floor.

Lucky to have such nice friends! I like it as well. Great pop and the bright look fits her bright smile. The color mix is great too. Leaving the purple in goes well with her pink hair, plus you have the great blues and reds in the paintings along with the yellow wall.

Nice shot Raymond!
What a great expression and natural pose. Love the colors also.
If anything, I'd say it feel a little unbalanced to the right. You have two elements going off frame to the right, that what gives me the unbalanced feeling.
But overall, I really like it. A lot. | | | |

Working on it.
It was a test ... since I am a videographer mainly use to the older large Beta SP / DVC Pros and smaller HDVs ... I wanted to shoot with my DSLR and see what the hype was fully all about. I have shot with a 7D once before, but it wasn't very creative. I thought I could try shooting with my D300s and see what I could get.

And thanks guys. Yeah, when I took that shot, it came out on the photo as imagined it would stand out.
And yes, she has a great happy personality and the photo definitely shows it.
Looking back at it ... I should have asked her to unlock her hands some.

I have actually revisited this thread every time someone posts, pausing on the photo each time. I really like it. It just has such a warmth to it from the shot and the personality that comes out.

Very nice. Maybe crop and straighten just a tad. But otherwise a very nice editorial portrait. Kudos!

Pink hair! definitely wasn't pink when I shot with her. :)
Great shot, really captured her personality. I think I like it better cropped square with her positioned towards the right side though, there is a lot of extraneous stuff to the right that isn't really needed IMO. It might also look nice with the paintings down and the purple things moved out of the way. Just her, the chair, and the wall as background. I find myself trying to read the titles on the posters. But then if you did all that it wouldn't be as spontaneous. I like the colors.
some of my own shots with Crystal are here: http://boundlight.photoshelter.com/g...000IHbd3B8JLcw
