Simple portraits - 11-22-2011, 12:02 PM

Critique: CC:

Here are three simple portraits I did last week.

#1. Lighting was the open garage door, and the background was the back of a piece of tile board I keep around. Only light was the indirect available light coming thru the garage door. Minimal retouching.

#2. One light portrait with a beauty dish directly above the model. We worked on getting a dreamy expression. Minimal retouching.

#3. Same lighting setup as #2, beauty dish over the model with white background lit separately. There is also a hair light to camera left.

C&C appreciated.

I really like the first shot but would have liked to see the top of her head in the picture.

Thanks for taking the time to comment, Allen! I tend to chop tops of heads often, and not every one likes that! Should have images with and without the chopping.

Nice. 1 & 3, wonderful use of color and nice poses. Wonderful choice of bg in 1. Love the simplicity of the set up and minimal processing. One tiny nit. I'd darken that white sliver in the button hole in 1, as the light blouse keeps drawing my eye there.
