Got the idea for this shot from a thread earlier today on another forum, thought I would try my hand at a self portrait version, I shot it a little tighter and lit it a little different so it wouldn't be a carbon clone of his, here are my 2 efforts:

I like #2 better personally, but would like to hear what ya'll think as well

I like the lighting better in #2 myself.

I also like the lighting and focus point on the barrel more on the second shot as well.

The only that bothers me about the second shot, it just seems to centered, a bit off the rule of thirds. The first one, would have been better to be on the top left quadrant than on the lower right quad.

But for the idea, I like it.

Yeah, I should have used my 35mm instead of my 50mm to give me a bit more room to crop, since I can't find my remote shutter release I was having to hold the 1911 about where I wanted it for focus, stretch with my other hand and hit the shutter to start the timer, then get back into position holding the gun, lol. I also tried cropping some off the left but it didn't look right with my right arm straight chopped instead of fading into darkness.

BTW, here is a version of #2 without the grain added, most people prefer this one, although I don't
