This live/recorded performance was at a small coffee shop in DT Olympia. Fletcher is usually a R&R kinda Christian band. This evening was acoustic with feelings more towards R&B/jazz.

The images below were taken with the following Nikkor MF AI/AIS lenses: 105/2.5 & 50/1.4 @ ISO1000. Shutter speeds where all over the place because of the lighting.

Thanks RedMouse... I was just there to document the moment and have some phun. And because the subjects were non-moving, MF lenses were in order for the evening. You just can't beat the quality of primes in that type of situation, IMPO.

Now, I've tried shooting MF with motorsports... specifically motorcycles... and find that it can be next to impossible to get what you want there, without much practice, experience and patience. But, when your subjects are not moving.... or at the least, moving side to side and not towards or away from you... the keep ratio is much higher. In this case the movement was very minimial and exposure/DOF were my only real worries. Everything was shot wide open. But, give it a shot again sometime. You may find that it's a great situation to experiment with getting the exposure right.
