FIRST WEDDING HELP NEEDED PLEASE..... - 05-17-2005, 03:12 PM

Hello everyone,
Wow I am so excited nervous you name it because I was contacted to do my First Wedding so I came to the board here for HELP if at all possible.

I will be sitting down with the B&G this week hopefully to find out what they want before I quote them any kind of pricing packages and so forth but what I would like to get from you guys and gals is what questions I need to be asking them?

Is there a "Standard Wedding Photographer List" per say out there?

She stated they were not going to be doing Engagement photos and the wedding itself will have 4 Bridesmaids and 4 groomsmen. That is all I know at this point in time except for the fact the Wedding is in July, and I am sure I will have tons more questions and I hope you all will help me out.

I am going to search the net to get some basic ideas of packages and things of that nature but without knowing exactly what they want as far as coverage I will have to wait till I sit down with them and go over what they may want.

I appreciate any and all help anyone can provide.

Thanks,

Stephen Gibson

Something you might want to try is to give print credit instead of a certain amount of pictures in certain sizes. It opens up the range of what the client can get from you and they feel more in control. I think we are going to go with this option next year for our wedding packages.

PM me and I will give you my cell phone number if you have any questions it is much easier to go over them on the phone than typing my fat little fingers off!

Hi Steve, congrats!
I asked the same question a while back and got a ton of great responses. Here is the link:

congrats also Stephen
You can check some of our sites to get some ideas about packages, but as Mike said, try and be flexible with the customer without hurting yourself. don't be afraid to charge what you are worth, and above all, don't sell yourself short. This may be your first wedding, but you were chosen because SOMEONE liked your other work. Let us know if you need anything...

How does that work exactly?
