Warm Simple Fall Feel Session - 10-25-2007, 04:35 PM

I has a session last night where we wanted a nice simple warm fall feel to it. I thought I'd share a couple of the images with you folks:

Black backdrop lite with orange gel form bottom left side; left back kicker with red gel; key light 26x56" softbox left of camera cross lighting subject; right rear kicker strip light at 1 & 1/3 stops less than key light.

Kevin

Nice shots. Move the model away from the backdrop on sheets. You'll avoid getting the rippled look with a shallow DOF.

Yeah - we tried it both ways and we actually liked the "flawed look". ;o)

Here is one from the other set before we changed the setup:

I actually like the one without the ripples...just my opinion, but it seems like the ripples pull the attention away from her. It was the first thing I looked at. I love the lighting like that and love how the colors all work together!

I agree about the ripples, my eyes keep moving to them. I also like the first pose more than the second. She looks more relaxed and her shirt isn't wrinkled. I LOVE the colors!!

I'm not feeling the Gel accent light. The red just doesn't work for me. Maybe something more golden. Pretty model. I like her back away from the backdrop better.

Amanda & Lisa - I agree. Thanks!

Greg - yeah, she said something about that. Only in Texas do we wear this type of top in the fall. LOL!

Laura - I started with a yellow gel and then a gold, but she didn't care for them. I finally placed the red on it and she loved it, so we went with it for a few shots. I didn't think that much of it at the time, but I have to agree with you now that I look at it again. I may try using a couple of different gels on that setup the next time.

Thanks for all of your comments!

Kevin
