B&W Conversion Attempt - 07-18-2005, 03:51 PM

Here's my attempt at a simple B&W conversion...I figured I'd try the look on a pic or two from my latest shoot. Let me know your thoughts.

More pics from my shoot with Antanique will be up shortly...

Looks great to me, now tell us how you did it. There seems to be about 100 ways to convert, from simple to very detailed.

Good job and pretty girl. Could you show us a version with a tad bit more contrast? I don't know if it would be any better than this, I'm just a fan of high contrast BW.

I am also a fan of more contrasty stuff, but I think the softer look works very well for this shot. I just love it!

lscottpht: Thanks for the compliment! :)

dbphotos: I converted the original image to lab color, and made an inverse selection of the lightness channel, converted to grayscale, then converted to RGB. I then added a little color and contrast via curves. I got this method from another board. If I'm not mistaken, it is based on the great Greg Gorman's method.

Elsaspet: It's funny you mention it...I actually really like high contrast b&w, but this image seemed to work with this treatment more.
