Well, I am trying to get the hang of the new Canon system. Here's a couple from a quick session I did yesterday while visiting Boston. Natalia and I had a very limited amount of time on a horribly cloudy and rainy afternoon. You gotta love those speedlghts and justin clamps! Every time I break out the extra flash I say a little thanks to the TriCoast crew!
This was the first time I really got to shoot with a bit of purpose with the Mark III and then do some post work. I will say that the Canon RAW files seem quite a bit different from Nikon NEF's when it comes to the initial adjustments. Not bad, just different. A lot of my "normal" initial workflow had to be tweaked. It is beginning to make sense though....
This one was a quick shot with just a touch of hand held flash to fill and give me a touch of color which I brought out with a warming filter preset. It was just so gray out....
This one is using a flash on a Justin clamp dangling from a Joby wrapped around a piece of wire. Hey, I didn't have an extra person so you do what ya gotta do.... TriCoast X-Process action and some contrast adjustments.
Same speedlight dangling only this time snooted to help give me a more natural light falloff. Slight contrast and vibrance bump and a touch of vignette to smooth out the transition. She's smiling becasue I told her we needed to wrap as the rain was just tooo much and she was finally able to put her coat on! I hate those cold rainy days, it just chills you to the bone.
