Strobist style boot camp - 05-01-2008, 11:49 PM

Hi everyone. I had the chance to take pictures of Darren and his group MarinesPT (www.marinespt.com) earlier today and also got the chance to shoot him alone. We took pictures around Reverchon Park and I did some strobist style shots up against a graffiti wall to emphasize the strength of the instructor and to have him stand out. So what do you think?

Strobist info: Nikon D80 in Commander mode shooting TTL, SB800 camera left with a snoot, f5.6, 1/125 sec, ISO 640

I like the effect of the lighting, but I don't like that his shirt disappears into shadow. Head position in #1 is much better. I don't like him looking down.

Thanks. I thought about that too after the fact but we were running out of daylight very quickly and didn't want to be there too late but liked the lighting.
