David's fix does make it look better, but for a long-term solution find out how to use your camera with more control than "P" allows. As mentioned, the XTi gets loud above 400, and underexposed images show even more noise.

I have an XTi but haven't used it in awhile. Mine jumps from ISO 800 to 1600; guess it can be set to incremental ISOs?

Here is my take on the image, in Photoshop CS whatever version:
1. Get a white balence off the grooms shirt coller.
2. Apply a little nosie ninja.
3. Sharping with unsharp mask at Amount (250) with a Radius (1.0) and Threshold (7).
and here is the result:

Size: 88.3 KB

But I agree with most posts here, you need to learn your camera's "Manual" settings and get out of "Program".

I hope this helps.

The cake is blown out and up. At least it's white.

The cake looks best in the original.

Go figure.

This was a 10 second fix.... If I had done 2 layers adjusted the color balence in layer one (top layer), gray scaled layer two (lower layer) and slightly selectively erased sections of the blown out cake from the top layer to get the detail back. That would have worked too, but I just wanted to give her a starting point. And yes the cake looks better in the origenal because the camera exposed for the cake...lol

Well, the guy telling you to use high ISO wasn't really giving bad advice.
The problem here is not understanding proper exposer and how to balance it out with flash.

BTW, I just downloaded a full res XTI file at ISO 1600 and it's plenty usable. I wouldn't be afraid to use it at a wedding.
