PP Images after Vacation? - 10-24-2005, 01:01 PM

Howdy All,

I was wondering how everyone Post Processes all their images after their Vacations. Karen and I just got back from Grand Teton and Yellowstone where I shot almost 1600 images and Karen probably close to the same, so my question is how do you all rotate, resize, and do minor adjustment and post them to your online gallery? I have been working on mine for almost a week now, not solid, but pretty much.

I will be curious to see how and what ya'll do.

I pick out the photos I like first. I then take the photos that were in the same light and run a batch on them once I have determined how the adjustments should be on one of the photos. I do this for each batch of photos in the same type of lighting. For single photos where there were no other photos of the subject, I just correct the one.

Howdy Paul,

Thanks so much for the reply, by batch do you mean "action" I have made actions for Landscape and Portrait mode but I still have been selecting the levels and working each image individually. Any tips on doing the batch post processing? It would sure be appreciated.

You create the action to do the steps on the photo then put the photos you wish to batch process in a folder and select batch process and the action you created and then pick the folder and let her go.

I use the Canon software to rotate all the RAW images and then I have actions I created to process them with. One action I have calls up the curves and levels (Requires manual processing but simplifies it) I adjust if needed. It works nice with the new Photoshop Bridge image processor. You can select all the images in Bridge to process and the rest becomes somewhat automatic.

With the new Photoshop CS2 Bridge and the Image processor it allows you to call up the first image and make the corrections then processes all other selected images the same. You can also choose and action to run in the process, save them as jpg, psd or tif.
