How many of you are still shooting 35mm film? - 07-24-2009, 03:08 PM

Just wondering. Seems most everyone has gone digital. Does this mean we just throw out our old film cameras? I have a Nikon N90s that I LOVED before I went digital. And my husband still has his old Canon AE-1 program.

On ebay, I see tons of these with no bids. SAD, I tell you. Ah, progress.

Just shot a roll through a rangefinder last week. First time in six months. Liked the results so I loaded a roll into my F2a. It's fun to play around with but for any serious work I will stick to digital. It's too much trouble to scan the negatives in, plus the cost of processing.

I have at least four 35mm cameras loaded with film right now, but haven't exercised any of them for a few weeks: Nikon F2, Canon EOS Elan IIe, Canon AF35ML, Oly OM-10. I really want to pick up a reasonably priced medium format camera and shoot a bunch of 120 before it's gone too. Tight budget right now, though.

I have 2-35mm (Unless P&S counts too, then 3), one 6x6, one 6x9, and one 4x5, plus my DSLR. Looking at my shelf I have Ilford Delta 100, FP4, Kodak TriX, Kodalith and Fuji 160C quickloads in 4x5, FP4+ in 120, FP4+, Pan-F and Superia Reala in 35mm, and some 35mm Kodachrome 64 in the mail to me from B&H. I used to think of my DSLR as a glorified light meter, until I got my Gossen Luna-Pro :-)

Allan

PS. Hmmmm, I need some color neg and pos for 120 and pos for 4x5 don't I? Off to the B&H web site I go!

Just got my Leicaflex SL2 back from a full CLA by DAG. In fact, I have more film bodies these day than digital and shot them more.

Leicaflex, M7, M4, M3, IIIG, IIIF, FED-NKVD, Holga 120, Holga 135DC.

Keep thinking about and 8x10 view camera one of these days....

I don't shoot 35mm film any longer (although I have a Konica rangefinder), but I do have a Hasselblad H2 with a 120 film back. So I guess my film cameras outnumber my digital bodies.

Hasn't arrived yet, shipped on Wednesday via USPS so should be here today. I had planned on running it through my Contax G1 RF but I sure wouldn't object if a Leica fell in my lap to use it with Heck, I am still thinking about WHERE to shoot it, maybe Freeport? Bolivar?

You only have 5 35mm film cameras and no medium format cameras.

Get busy. Get some more. Catch up with the rest of us.
