2 Questions - 08-10-2009, 09:47 AM

Hi Group-
I have 2 itty bitty questions. I have a couple "Trash The Dress" shoots set up. I want some really great grungy locations. This is something I haven't done before. I have a couple volunteers who are modeling for me. I know how important these are to my portfolio, so I want to take full advantage of these shoots.

First question- I have seen the threads about grunge locations. I am going to check out the one behind the stockyards. But, is there a really great abandoned building or something around? Maybe a really old house with a pretty and messy front porch? Any suggestions would be truly appreciated.

Second question- Would any of you "seasoned pros" like to go with me? I'd really like someone to offer suggestions and tell me what I'm doing wrong. I'm thinking of doing these late this week and next week, around twilight (7:30p).

I hope I'm not out of line asking. But, I figured if there was ever a place to ask, this is probably it.

Thanks so much!!

I'm not recommending you go here, but it does answer your question.

This place is a few blocks past the stockyards and was used recently as the set for the TV series "Prison Break". It is unoccupied, but not abandoned, so there are trespassing issues. It is also decomposing so there is danger of falling debris. And I would never recommend going there without some sort of security.

Thanks Don! I love that. A little afraid of the security thing, but the site looks awesome.

That place is amazing. My mom lives in a small town. there is a meat packing facility (slaughter house)still working. They shot the last Texas Chainsaw there. That is where leather face was born. Hehe. I love the country. There are lots of old things out there.

Take Capt. Tom. He has his CHL now. What evening are you planning to go? I am already booked for Wednesday and Thursday evenings.

If you wanted to use the rusty-car lot I posted about a while back, it's down the street from my house. I'm in no way as seasoned as the other gentlemen mentioned here, but would love to help.

Sunday afternoon I am going to the FWPPA Barbecue at Dwayne Lee's studio in Arlington, then over to Richardson for the Perfect Wedding Guide event.
