Barbara (40 year vet of retouching) and I (10 vet of retouching) have been kicking around the idea of teaching a Basic Photoshop Retouching class. That's right Retouching not a web grafx class on photoshop or a gaming class but a true retouching class on photoshop.

We have a lab of 20 computers all Dell optiplex's run p4's and hyperthreading with a gig of ram.

The class would be all daylong in Austin. Barbara and I are not doing this to make money we are doing this simply because we like help others out. We have been to classes before that are not the best and thought why not give our own. Since we both work for ACC we can get the room for a good price. Which is still going to cost and hopefully we can get the books at a good rate. That's right a book. A real book.

The class would be some practice and illustrating how to. But mostly the class would be Q&A. If there is an interest for a class like this please let us know so we can try and get on the list for a room.

The cost per person would be no more than 150 with a book. I am hoping that we can get that to 125 with a book.

Again let me know if some one is interested and when would be a good time.

We are also thinking of offering a Painter class and a more advanced retouching class that uses a mix media of hand work and digital work.

Put me on your list. As to the date, that is pretty flexible depending on what day of the week.
I assume you are thinking Saturdays ?? Since I am in Fort Worth, it is a little trip down to Austin, but this sort of class is just what I have been looking for.
I will watch for further details, or an e-mail, etc.

I'm very interested as well. I'm open on the dates, just have to make arrangements with co-worker to cover obligations. I live NE of McKinney approx 65 miles N. of Dallas. I can make the trip, just need to have some notice "when" .... went to PSWorld in Vegas, but didn't get any hands-on experience ... this would be great, if the "painting" part could be included on a 2nd day, it would really help justify the expense to make the trip.

I'd be interested in a weekend class, particularly if it included the painting stuff as well.

I'm also in Fort Worth, so I'd need notice as well.

I am interested depending on the date. Put me on your tentative list. I am looking at going to Imaging USA in Austin also. I'm getting used to that Fort Worth to Austin drive!

It would just be a one day class. If we did two days it would cost more just because the room cost for the extra day. We could offer it that same weekend of the Imaging USA that way everyone would have a reason to come down to Austin.

I would be interested as well, it sure seems like a lot of interest is from the Dallas/Fort Worth Area. Please keep me posted as to when the class will be, as I will need to take time from work (Dreaded retail - 6 Days a week!@)

I would be interested. and would have to drive from Houston.
The wife and I were just talking (15 minutes ago) and she wants me to take a class on photoshop so I can improve my skills. It was al her idea. (have I mentioned how awesome my wife is lately

) Also she said I might be able to get a new version of photo shop. I have Photoshop Ver 6 right now.

I will check on dates. Hopefully we can get this before christmas like the first week of dec or maybe second week in dec.

how is that sounding to everyone. I have to check on books too to see if we can get them that fast.

I would be interested in this also. Since I would be making the trip from Houston, a weekend is better for me, too.
