Not bad on the posing, there are some issues with cutting off parts of hands/arms/legs etc, try to cut off at the joints, but always leave fingers. Also, for future, sleeveless is traditionally not recommended as bare arms can be distracting. As far as where to cut, it all depends on how the body looks / composition.

I love number 1!!!

Thanks! Ok, I thought I read somewhere that you shouldn't cut off at the joints... regardless, I'm such a newbie I wasn't looking at that anyway :) lol

Thanks for your thoughts!

the first thing I noticed is that a lot of your pictures are tilted. Tilted pictures are best in small doses. When you do them to often, it loses something. I read on here somewhere that you should use tilt like you use table salt. Sparingly. Hope that helps a little bit.

It's a good start but you need to work some more on your composition.

Having a hand, a foot, a knee or any part of the body chopped off by either being covered/hidden/not-included doesn't look pleasing.

You probably need to use a longer lens to get that mouth watering bokeh.

Also, if there is enough open space try shooting from that angle unless you want to include the clutter behind the subject.

Maruis- Thanks for your input, I definatly need to learn more about composition, the only rule I really know is the rule of thirds, and I'm still working on trying to incorperate that. I wish there was a list of things to go by (is there??) that would be helpful!!

I have also heard of bokeh, or rather I saw some examples of it using lights, but I'm not familiar with it. I suppose I need to look that up too :)

Thanks for taking the time to c&c my work, I really appreciate it!

I agree with much that is said. Tilt in small doses. Watch out for cutting off fingers. The one with her arm over the back of the bench is not a good pose. She is missing an entire limb.

And. . . this will start a fire storm. . . I recognize that train track. It is an active train track and it is unlawful to be on it. Be very careful if you want to shoot on a track that you are not doing it in the middle of town. The fines are definitely not worth the shot. FYI.

I'd say tilt almost never - it rarely, if ever, adds anything ot the shot and instead looks like the client is sliding right out of frame. They're decent shots, nothing too creative nor any huge glaring mistakes.

Be very careful using railroad tracks. Cil and I were chased off the tracks in Killeen, TX by the actual RR workers who were in the area. RR are private property. RR companies do ask the Police for assistance in keeping people off of them.

My GF is a police officer in Colorado. She chases kids and photog's off of RR tracks a lot mostly due to safety and Homeland Security reasons. This how I met her BTW. She wrote me a warning for trespassing.

I am NOT telling you what you can and can not do!! This is just my personal experience here. With proper research though, you can request to use tracks at that have been abandoned or no longer in use.

I don't click on links and I know a few others that also do not. If you really want a critique then I would suggest that you post a few actual images. I'm no expert on seniors, but I have photographed a few over the years and I will give you my opinion.

What they all said ^

Oh by the way, she has a hole in her jeans!, I do understand that it is in style, but a little distracting to me!
