Albums for beginners - 10-31-2005, 10:49 AM

Ok guys...I think I finally need to look into doing a sample album - clients are starting to ask.....where is a good place to start? I know there are 5 million different albums from 1 million different companies, created using 1/2 million different software. Where is a good place to start? Just something small, and affordable since I am having to eat the cost. Not a slip-in, but a flush mount. From the guys and gals who do albums, what is your most popular?

I recommend looking at asuka book for a "magazine style, hard back" album and at Leather Craftsmen. Art Leather is also an option.

Check out the list of albums in the business section, just stay away from Gary Fong's albums, we bought several of them and while they look good at first they do not hold up very well at all over time when handled and used as much as Leather Craftsman and Graphi Studios

Yeah, I saw that - just a little overwhelming to someone who's never even considered doing an album before. Just thought I would get the forums ideas on what would be a good "starter" album. Didn't realize that about Fong's stuff...thanks for the tip.

Oh...and wait until you get the material from some of them. You need a PhD to decipher all the options and pricing!
