Hey.. I need someone to confirm for me that Photoshop Elements will allow me to save a JPG file with the Color Profile embedded in the image....
Can someone with it confirm that for me?

I have Elements 3.0 on the PC and the color management is very limited. It will preserve aRBG if the file was originally encoded as such, but you cannot assign or convert to aRGB from sRBG or another profile. It will convert to sRGB with save for web. It will allow you to assign aRGB or sRGB to a file that has no color space at open. Hope that helps.

Brad, what are you actually trying to do. Imbed a profile yourself or tell someone else how to embed a profile on their end.
If you need something done I have PSCS2 and will do it for you if you send me the image and profile.

I posted a thread about this a few months ago.... I don't think it's possible in Adobe Photoshop Elements 3.

If you need something done I have PSCS2 and will do it for you if you send me the image and profile. | I'm trying to create a book for AsukaBook.com .. their converter insists on the pages having an sRGB profile embedded in the page image... makes little sense to me since sRGB is "default" why it can't just assume it... but whatever.
As far as you converting it for me, the total size of the pages is huge.. something akin to 125MB.. not something to email just for a conversion/embedding.

Ok, I know next to nothing about color management, or if this helps at all, but here's something I found:
If you open the file and choose Edit > Color Settings, then select the Limited Color Management option. Then save the file using File > Save As, and check the box next to Color: ICC Profile: sRGB.
Does that help you at all?

Is that on Elements, Lissa? I wish I could make it work on PSP, but I can't seem to find the magic settings.

That's on Elements. Hubby has PSP - let me see if I can find something. Which version of PSP do you have?

Well, we have a considerably older version (5), but I did some Googling and found this: Quote: |
With PSP's color management set for a profiled monitor, there's also no easy way to save images with a standard sRGB profile so they'll look right on Web browsers or other software that doesn't use monitor profiles. Saving images for Web use is such a common scenario that Corel really needs to add a tool for converting a profiled color space to sRGB. In the meantime, one suggested kludge is to save the file with an embedded profile, reset the monitor profile in PSP to sRGB (instead of the monitor profile), select the "use embedded profile" radio button, and re-open the file. I have another a trial-and-error workaround in the form of a preset Curves adjustment to apply before saving a file intended for Web viewing. It brings what I see in a Web browser a lot closer to what I see in PSP. Corel's technical support representative suggested disabling color management when saving images for the Web. He also pointedly noted that "[c]olor space support is new to Paint Shop Pro X and we are still working to iron out any discrepancies."

Let me know if this helps. If not, I'll keep looking - I love a challenge!
