You've added some great value to the forum!

I thought I would post a photo I did after reading the B&W instructions and creating my own Action. The technique allows you to have a beginning on the B&W conversion and then you can add to it to come up with the B&W that you like.

It should not matter as long as all the credits within the action are intact.
We do not want to upset Mr Gorman or Mr Holbert

What forum is it? If you do not want to post the location here send me a PM

Would you consider sending me a copy so I can see what you did in your version?

You have a great use of tones creating depth and etc.
I do not see any blown highlights or shadow areas that are to dark.

Overall a very nice nice photo that is pleasing to look at.

Did you change the color on the fill layer or did you leave it at dark gray/black?
I put it to just a slightly lighter grey.

I think you'll be OK, they have a thin candy shell. I'm surprised you didn't know that.

I used the Gorman Holbert method (although not with your action Robin - I'll be downloading and installing that tonight) for this picture which I posted in another thread. My one complaint is the noticable dithering in the background behind the tiger's neck. I believe that was caused by tweaking the black point too much on the levels layers.

Robin, thanks for creating this action.

Robin,

Your probably still down with the back, just wondering if you can get to the computer.

Did the email make it to you on on the PhotoShop 7 action?

Roy sorry I lost track of all the threads

I did get the action and I tested it once and if I remember correctly it did not like Photoshop CS or CS2. Paul also emailed me his copy and it worked ok, the only comment I could make on his version is the use of the brightness/contrast. All the pro tips I have read treat this option as a last resort to curves and levels. Thanks to you and Paul for sending them.

I will make a note to go back and review it again.

I have been busy trying to put a wedding album together for our youngest son. He had a friend photograph their wedding last April and he gave them over 600 images with a signed release for printing the images. We have selected about 100+ images to use in the book.

The good part is he used his Canon EOS 1DS, and the only downfall is they are all jpgs! I really don't like editing jpg format. Some of the images are real dark because of the flash or lack of flash. I m not that good at making the images pop so to speak.

I was going to edit them and upload to the new Adobe/Kodak Gallery and purchase a black leather wedding book for them. It would be nice if I had some of the fancy software packages but I can not see buying them for one album

The last few days my wife Penny has been in Salt Lake City, Utah on a training mission and I tell you what I feel lost without her around The company is dumping American Express and purchasing a new Credit Card package for all their employees and she is testing and training on the software. Luckily she is do back on Friday

It is amazing how attached a couple can get after 31 years of marriage
