Help Again - EXIF Editor - 11-04-2005, 07:24 AM

Ok.. for those that were following my trials trying to embed a color management profile into a jpg...

http://www.texasphotoforum.com/forum...ad.php?t=10980

I found a solution for that at the end that thread.

Only one problem.

THE BUGGER REMOVED THE EXIF INFORMATION .. which means the DPI information was lost. Anybody know of an application (preferrably something that can do it in batch) that will add EXIF, including DPI, without f'ing with the rest of the file? Obviously, I can load the image back up in PSP, size it, and resave it... but that would lose the embedded info.

Sigh.

Why do these things have to be so complicated? No wonder the average public's images look the way they do.

Brad. Have you tried putting the original image into BreezeBrowser. That program seems to me to extract more EXIF info than any other program. I'm not sure if it will do all that you want it to do though. If you haven't, it can't hurt to try. If you don't have it, it does have a trial period.

It's not free, but PhotoMechanic is by far the best management and browser I've discovered. It's made by Camera Bits. http://www.camerabits.com/

BBurton pointed me to this one. http://www.nabocorp.com/ I downloaded the freeware edition but they also have a shareware edition with a free 30 day trial period. Says it costs $30 if you want to purchase it. They state that the shareware version has an exif editor.

Breeze Browser looks cool... how's its RAW conversion?

You DON'T want BB for it's raw conversion. It is foreground only. Nothing in the background! Unless all of your conversions use the same parameters, you have to wait for one to finish before you can start the next! Not Good. Takes too long. If all is equal, its a good converter. The converted pictures are very good looking.
