deluxe photo finish question - 11-05-2005, 12:44 PM

I've been asked by a customer if I provide "deluxe photo finish" on my prints ... I should probably know this, but does anyone know what kind of "finish" this is ? I normally get my picture reprints printed at Costco, and they jonly offer Glossy and Lustre prints ..

Thanks for your time.

My printer offers Pebble, Linen, Embassy, Lustre Coating, Lustre Paper, Glossy and Metallic.. I assume your customer is referring to what options they have and not a particular finish but I'm no expert either :) Sorry I couldn't be more help!

Thanks, I went to MPIX as well, I use them for canvas printing and high end portraits that I prefer to use their services.

I didn't see any reference to "deluxe photo finish" ... I may be wrong, but it may be something that is a marketing feature used at some studios.

Thanks.

You may have to ask them to describe the finish, or better, bring you a sample of the finish, telling them that different services have different names for similar finishes, but yours doesn't have one using that name. Once you have seen it you can probably find your own matching finish.

I did a quick google search and didn't find anything that referred to a "deluxe photo finish". Not saying that there couldn't be but if it was a standard finish name it would have shown up.
