All my lens are "L" lens except one that I do not use often, but it does come in handy from time to time, when I am looking for something wider than my 17~40 can handle and that is my Sigma 15 f/2.8 aspherical wide angle.

In good light, it really works well to fit my wide angle needs, but I am also a big believer in stitching photos together, also.

They are a very economically priced lens, IMHO, and if you pay attention, you can pick up a used lens in great shape for a decent price on eBay.

Yep, you are. I am constantly interchanging lenses between my Nikon FG (1982), my Nikon N90s (1994) and my Nikon D80 (2007). More than that, I use my Nikon SB-600 flash on all three bodies as well!

The only problem with all this swapping is that if I used kit lenses for the D80 on the other bodies, since the kit lenses would be DX series lenses they would have tended to vignette on the full frame film bodies. Of course I do not think that is a Nikon issue, that is more a FX/DX problem.

How about a body cap with a pinhole in it? That's about as cheap as it gets. Add running shoes for zoom. Works fine in low light, too, as long as you hold really still.
