Certificate for Photography - classes

Has anyone taken classes at Houston Community College or San Jacinto college for Photography? I was looking into taking some classes but wanting to know if they are at all even worth it. Can someone help & give me your input. TIA!

I had not been to either of the colleges you mentioned, however, I had taken some classes at the Austin Community College, and their photography department is outstanding! I would definitely suggest going to a college to learn more in-depth about photography. While books, forums and workshops are great, there is so much more to learn from a credited class.

I have taken photography classes at HCC .... but it wasn't for certification.
The classes I took were stricltly b&W film. I loved the class and learned a great deal from it and I apply that to my digital work now.

They do have a certification program ...and I believe the classes are marked PHTG or something similar in the course catalog (The one I took was marked ARTS)

Its a Certification in Digital Communication with a concentration in Digital Photography

as for whether the certification program is worth it or not.... I think it would be a great opportunity to take those classes and learn about doing digital imaging as well. That was something I didnt get out of my class.
