First 10-24 Shots-Need Advise - 01-10-2010, 09:12 PM

Image hosting, free photo sharing & video sharing at Photobucket

• Why is the sky so dark blue at the top?
• Am I allowing too much distortion?
• Any comments on shooting with wide angle would be helpful.
Thanks!

Most people will not look at links.

I don't think anybody wants to comment on a bunch of shots at one time.

If you would attach one or two shots you will get a better response.

The sky being blue and gradually going to a light blue is the change in the sun color temperature in the sky. Nothing wrong just how it is.

Your shots look pretty good ... well for what I saw ... lots of pics here.

I don't see much in distortion ... but then again Photobucket isn't the best photo holding area in terms of quality.

As for your WS, they look good. Good composition and all. Just keep it up.

You've got some nice shots there. I didn't notice any distortion in the ones I looked at.

I particularly like the the strong texture on the vent, or whatever it is.

In general, I think they're quite good. Mistake most folks make with an untrawide is failing to get close enough. Only thing I'd caution is to be aware of 'falling trees' as in one shot of the lighthouse (?) -- for some reason folks seem to tolerate a tilting building more than they do tilting natural objects. Try shooting upward from a low angle in a group of people so that the wide angle effect makes those on the edges seem to tilt inward and you'll see how unsettling that looks.

Good pixes!

That's what the sky does! Something to do with the sky really being black, and the light being filtered through the atmosphere, which makes it look blue, and near the horizon, the light seen is filtered through more atmosphere and smudge, so it looks paler.

"Too much" distortion is a purely subjective opinion...if you think you have to ask, it probably is. But it is mostly not disturbung, imo.
