Ha, good read and good advice.

I name my files YYYYMMDD_nnnn_jm_zzz[w]

Where

Y = Year
M = Month
D = Day
nnnn = image sequence number
j = "c", "b" denoting color or B/W version
m = my version number (sometimes I re-process or re-crop files multiple times)
zzz = the length, in pixels, of the longest side of the crop
[w] = optional character that lets me know if the image has my watermark on it.
